PHRA RAM

Thai Supreme God

Also known as Phra Rama, Pra Ram, พระราม

The dazzling heroic star of the Ramakien

Yet another form of Vishnu? Yes, it’s Vishnu yet again!

This time he has been reborn as Phra Ram, the heroic Lord of the Gods in the Thai drama known as the Ramakien — ‘The Glory Of Rama’. Yes, it is named after him in Rama form.

With his name in lights, he just couldn’t resist the temptation to appear in the ‘Yod Dern Hon’ head-dress in yet another Khon shadow puppet production.

He has a green face and wears a very pointy golden crown, but not as pointy as the one his wife Phra Lak wears.
