DOLYA

Russian and Ukrainian Destiny Goddess

Also known as Dolya–Nedolya

Goddesses of Fate

The Dolya are female destiny deities who dole out fate to all and sundry. Reports vary from place to place. They may take on the appearance of cats, dogs or even little old ladies hiding under your stove. (Of course the stove is also a classic lurking place for Kikimora — it must get pretty crowded under there.)

If you make a wrong decision or try to go against your destiny, a Dolya is sure to come along and cackle “I told you so”. And then torment you terribly.
