MUSPELLHEIM

Norse legendary place

Also known as Muspelheim, Muspelheimr, Muspell, Muspellsheimr

The land of primordial fire

This is an awful no-man’s-land of fire and desolation, the southern-most fiery pinnacle of the Nine Worlds. It seems to exist out on a limb of Yggdrasil the Cosmic Tree. Which is no bad thing — just think of the health and safety implications of all those naked flames.

It’s the exact opposite and ancient counterpart of ice-ridden Niflheim back in the days when the two realms were separated by the void of Ginnungagap and Norse mythology was just a twinkle in Ymir’s frosty eye.

Muspellheim is ruled by Surt the Fire Giant but there are no burning questions he feels inclined to answer at present.
