Sumerian Agriculture God

Also known as Dumuzi-Abzu, Dumuzi-Amaushumgalana

Vegetarian God of Fertility, Growth and Decay

In other words, he looks after crops and regulates the seasons.

An important and popular God, Dumuzi was swamped with worshipers. Particularly in the swamps, where he was known as Dumuzi-Abzu the Lord of the Marsh. He was also known as Dumuzi-Amaushumgalana when it came to looking after orchards and date palms.

Dumuzi is more-or-less the Sumerian equivalent of Tammuz, complete with descent into Underworld scenario and rescue by his wife Inanna. See their entries for more info.
