KAITANGATA

Maori Sky God

Also known as Kai Tangata

The Sunset Kid

He’s a deity of the sky. Particularly the evening sky.

The son of Rehua, one day he slipped and fell down the Heavenly Stairway. The accident was a bit messy and his blood spilled all over the sky.

So whenever you see a glorious red sunset, that’s him.

There is also a different God called Kaitangata among the Maori who we haven’t quite investigated yet. Hopefully he is less accident-prone.
