AYAR CACHI

Inca Trickster God

Also known as Ayar Kachi

Primordial Inca brother and disruptive pest

He is one of the four ancestral Ayar brothers who emerged from the mysterious cave of Pacariqtambo.

Unfortunately he just couldn’t behave. While the others were happy to follow their big brother Ayar Manco to Cuzco for some serious empire-building, Ayar Cachi preferred to throw boulders, gouge out valleys and generally smash up the landscape.

You can still see the damage he caused if you go there today. But don’t worry about meeting him – he is now safely locked up and can’t cause any trouble. His brothers were so upset by his naughtiness that they tricked him back into the cave and sealed it shut.

Hopefully no-one will let him out again.
