MERU

Hindu legendary place

Also known as Sumeru

The Hindu Gods' Holiday Home

Mount Meru is lotus-shaped and built of gold. It is built on top of many supporting layers somewhat like a wedding cake.

There are pillars of elephants, giants, snakes, and who knows what else, with garlands of flowers and every kind of Indian decoration and carving.

The summit is over 250,000 miles high. It has to be seen to be believed.
