The colorful deities and demons of India...

KUNTI

Hindu legendary mortal

Mother of the Pandavas

She started off as a singer and dancer, but desperately wanted to be a mother. Unfortunately her first husband died and her second husband could not have sex due to a curse.

The Gods came to the rescue. Four of them: Surya, Dharma, Vayu and Indra who supplied the necessary to form the basis of the Pandavas brothers.

We would also mention in passing — and we wish to pass as we are fed up with the Pandavas — that Kunti was the sister of VASUDEVA who was Krishna’s mortal dad.
