ÂDITYAS

Hindu Sun Gods 🌞

Also known as Adityas

Solar Gods in charge of important Heavenly matters

These are the sunny sons of Aditi. Their names are: Varuna (the boss), Ansa, Aryaman, Bhaga, Daksha, Mitra and Surya. Each Aditya takes it in turn to be in charge of the sun for a month.

Later on some pedantic smart-ass decided there should be another five — DHATOR, Indra, Mitra, Sâvitrî, and Vivasvan — to make a full calendar of twelve months. How utterly boring.
