THAUMAS

Greek Sea God

Sea God of Wonders

The son of Pontus and Gaia, he was a lovely old sea deity specializing in wondrous things. He got it together with Electra, one of the Oceanids, and they filled the sea with delights.

Their rainbow daughter Iris was a great joy to them, but what a disappointment when the other daughters turned out to be hideous Harpies.

The troubles of Thaumas continued when he was overthrown by Poseidon during the Olympian revolt. He has now sunk without trace.
