St. WILLIAM OF VERCELLI

Christian Saint

Also known as William Of Montevergine

Hermit, but nevertheless an advisor to the King of Naples

This somewhat unusual situation stirred up jealousy in various quarters and a woman was sent to seduce our Saint.

He promptly pushed aside the logs on his fire and invited the seductress to join him in sitting on the embers.

She not only declined but was prompted to give all her jewels to the poor and give up her naughty ways.
