St. THOMAS AQUINAS

Christian Saint

'The Angelic Doctor' of enthusiastic education

He was imprisoned by his family after he became a mendicant Dominican Friar. But this just strengthened his resolve.

So he studied ferociously while at the same time using a burning log to drive off a female temptress who was distracting him.

He became a mine of theological information and his own ‘Summa Theologica’ was never finished — because it was a divine mystery. Not to be confused with a murder mystery. Who are you to know who did it?

In tribute to his great learning, Thomas Aquinas is now Patron Saint of Schools, Colleges, Universities — and the Students thereof. Also Booksellers.
