St. SCHOLASTICA

Christian Saint

Patron Saint of Children suffering from Epilepsy or Cerebral Palsy

First Benedictine nun and sister of St. Benedict, she was in charge of a nunnery not far from her brother. They used to meet midway as she was forbidden to set foot amongst the monks and vice versa.

They must have met in a hut or some kind of shelter. She enjoyed these meetings very much but he was always in a hurry to get back.

He was surprised how often his return was delayed by heavy rainfall. She was surprised and delighted that God found time to answer her prayers.

Scholastica is now the patron of kids with Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy, or other Convulsive Ailments
