St. ROSE OF LIMA
Christian Saint
Flowery Patron Saint from South America
A Dominican virgin of the Third Order, she lived in a garden hut wearing a crown of thorns.
She appears to have spent most of her time fasting and sleeping on broken potsherds. It was probably this uncomfortable lifestyle which led to her experiencing visions.
Most of her visions featured the Devil. Which does not come as a great surprise. Hell on earth must carry some sort of exemption clause.
She is now Patron Saint of Gardeners, Florists, Flower Growers and Horticulturalists, and also South America.
