St. PIUS X

Christian Saint

Patron Saint of Poorly Pilgrims and Sick Travelers

Another Pope.

As an Italian child he was so poor he used to carry his shoes to school to avoid wearing them out.

By the time he got to be Pope he held very traditional views and had no time for what he regarded as Modernism.

Did he ever get around to putting the shoes on?
