St. PETER OF ALCÁNTARA

Christian Saint

Also known as San Pedro De Alcántara

Barefoot Patron Saint of Security Guards and Brazil

Spanish founder of The Discalced Alcantarines Friars Minor. Or The Barefoot Friars to you.

No softy Sainthood for him. It was all draughts, isolation, discomfort, ingrowing toenails and chilblains.

He is officially the Patron Saint of Night Watchmen and Security Guards, Brazil, and Estremadura in Spain. None of these are barefoot so far as we know.
