St. PETER CHANEL
Christian Saint
Missionary and Martyr
He was sent to the somewhat fictional-sounding Island of Futuria in the New Hebrides. There he baptized the king’s son.
The king was not at all happy about this and Peter got the lethal chop. Yet a year later the whole island had converted to Christianity.
We have no idea what the king thought about that.
