St. OLGA

Christian Saint

Also known as Olga Of Kiev

She was the first Russian Saint of the Orthodox Church

As widow of Prince Igor she was also a princess. Legend tells that she was a nasty cruel lady until she saw the light and was baptized.

Her subsequent efforts to introduce Christianity were in vain — but her grandson St. Vladimir carried on her work with much greater success.
