St. MATTHIAS

Christian Saint

Replacement Disciple who appears in Acts of the Apostles

He was a twelfth man, chosen by St. Peter to replace Judas Iscariot — who was now out of the running having parted company with his entrails.

Matthias had always wanted to join the team and was hanging around right from the start hoping he would get picked to play for Jesus.

Where he ended up no-one quite knows, which usually means Martyrdom in Ethiopia.
