St. LUDMILA

Christian Saint

Also known as Ludmila Of Bohemia, Ludmilla

Rather bohemian Patron Saint of Bohemia and the Czech Republic

All we know is that she was a Slavic Martyr in old and old Czechoslovakia if not the Czech Republic and/or Slovakia.with various members of the family marrying into and out of trouble like a Bohemian soap opera.

At some point her daughter’s uncle divorced his sister’s aunt and married her brother who was secretly married to the regent who had recently died from confusion.

Or something like that. It was a long time ago and does it really matter? The main reason people remember her now is that she was the grandma of Good King St. Wenceslaus.

Ludmila was eventually strangled and we can’t really blame her.
