St. LUCY FILIPPINI
Christian Saint
Teacher known as Maestre Santa or Holy Schoolmistress
She was a young orphan from Tuscany who was very bright and singled out by a cardinal who wanted to start an education order.
She served under a woman teacher called Rosa and the institute where they started became known as the Maestre Pie.
When Rosa died Lucy was in charge for a while, surviving the squabbles and power struggles until she surrendered control in favor of intelligence and teaching.
This made her very popular and under her behind-the-scenes influence, Maestre Pie institutes spread throughout the world. Everyone could have a slice.
