St. HILARION

Christian Saint

Also known as Hilarion Of Gaza, Hilarion The Great

Basket-weaving hermit

To get the hang of things like fasting and chanting Old Testament Psalms, he followed St. Anthony the Abbot around for a bit.

When times got a bit too tough he could fall back on weaving baskets of rushes. These were always very marketable.

Distance was no object to pilgrim-spotters, so what price a basket woven by a holy man?
