St. GILDAS THE WISE

Christian Saint

Also known as Gildas Sapiens, Gweltaz

Why the wise? That's for him to know and you to find out

Born in Scotland but educated in Wales, he went to Ireland with St. Patrick. He married and St. Aidan of Lindisfarne was a son of his.

He then went in for this new-fangled writing business and blamed the Anglo-Saxons for British Decadence.

This did not go down well and he beat a hasty retreat to Brittany where he kept a very low profile as a hermit.
