St. GENESIUS

Christian Saint

Also known as Genesius Of Rome

Patron Saint of Actors and Thespians

Actor and Martyr. Performing a satire in Rome about Christian baptism, he got lost in the plot and converted himself.

He probably thought this would amuse Emperor Diocletian, but Diocletian much preferred a good tragedy.

The actor was beheaded in a farewell performance. So much for method acting. He’s now the Patron Saint of Actors.
