St. FRANCIS BORGIA

Christian Saint

Governor of Catalonia and Jesuit Priest

After military campaigns, sorting out brigands and local corruption, establishing schools and hospitals and bringing up a family, he gave it all up when his wife died and joined the Jesuits for a more contemplative life.

It never quite happened as the Jesuits needed his organizational expertise full time. Back to work then.
