St. ERIC OF SWEDEN

Christian Saint

Also known as Eric Ix Of Sweden

Patron Saint of Stockholm

King and Patron of Sweden.

He was doing well until he had a run in with the idolatrous Finlanders. He went into to battle and slaughtered a great number which caused him to weep.

Magnus of Denmark saw an opportunity to seize power and rounded up all the remaining survivors, and called upon Eric who was celebrating mass.

He foolishly came out of church, mounted his horse to meet them and asked ‘what do you want?’ He soon found out. He is now another Martyr.
