St. CRISPIN OF VITERBO

Christian Saint

Also known as Crispino Da Viterbo, Pietro Fioretti

Small saint with a big heart

Ex-shoemaker who joined the Capuchins after seeing a procession. He took the name from his favorite Saints St. Crispin and St.Crispinian after taking holy orders.

Small and seemingly delicate he undertook any task given to him with immeasurable cheerfulness — cook, gardener, in the infirmary, it was all wonderful.

He came into his own when he was sent out to beg for alms. No-one could resist him, especially as he threw in healing and the odd miracle.
