St. CLOUD

Christian Saint

Also known as Clodoald

Patron Saint of Minnesota

Son of the King of Orleans. He survived plots and with of lot of murder going on by wicked uncles after the kingdom when his father died.

He stayed well away from the power struggle by becoming a monk, needing nothing but his own little cell in Provence where he was quite unknown.

Eventually he returned to Paris and served the Bishop, then moved on to Nogent-on-the Seine (now called St. Cloud) where he built a monastery. This was a very popular retreat for those who feared losing their souls in the outside world.
