St. BERTILLE

Christian Saint

Also known as Berthild, Berthild Of Chelles, Bertilla

Abbess of Chelles

From a well-to-do background she decided to renounce the world and become a nun starting in a monastery at Brie.

As she rose through the ranks to become Abbess, hints of former glories were found to still be in existence, and she seemed to draw royalty towards her.

Queen Hereswith of the Angles became a nun and Queen Bathildes became a sister under her guidance.
