Also known as Allowin, Bavo Of Ghent, Bavon

Hermit and Patron Saint of Ghent

He led a dissolute life until middle age and then gave it up to become a hermit and live in a hollow tree.

After a number of dull adventures in austerity he returned to Ghent Monastery where he given planning permission to build a tiny cell in the woods.

It seems possible he may have run out of funds.
