Bishop of Milan and Patron Saint of Bee Keepers due to having a swarm settle on his mouth as a babe.
He was involved in lots of conflicts with Arians and their Empress Justina and did his diplomatic best to keep the bloodshed to the lowest level.
He was also into music and his Ambrosian Chant was at the top of the church hit parade, until knocked from its no.1 spot by the Gregorian Chant.
He also wrote three books: ‘On Virginity’, a treatise ‘Of Widows’ and another bestseller ‘On the Faith’.
