St. SALVATORE LILLI

Christian Saint

Martyr

He always seemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whilst he was a young Franciscan novitiate, the Italian Court put a ban on religious orders. So he was forced to visit Palestine to reach ordination.

From there he went to Armenia. With the Turks in control, opposition to Christianity was relentless.

Despite creating employment projects, the young priest was bayoneted along with every one of his parishioners.
