PADMASAMBHAVA

Tibetan Wisdom God

Also known as Guru-Rinpoche, Lopon-Rinpoche

Legendary guru who exported Buddhism to Tibet

Known as the Precious Teacher, he is a legendary, almost-but-not-quite-historical figure who may have lived in the eighth century.

We find his story quite plausible really. He was miraculously born from a lotus, flew to Tibet on the back of a tiger and single-handedly taught Buddhism to the Tibetan peoples without so much as a Powerpoint presentation.

He is known as the ‘Red Hat’ teacher. No connection with Linux there. He just likes to wear a red hat.
