MONTEZUMA

Aztec Cocoa legendary mortal

Also known as Moctezuma, Motecuhzoma

Last king of the Aztec world

He was utterly obsessed by chocolate, which he believed to be the most exquisite substance in the world. He couldn’t understand what the Spaniards saw in all that silly gold stuff lying around, and was therefore completely unprepared for the brutal takeover of his entire empire.

Makes you wonder what would’ve happened if the Aztecs had invaded Spain instead. A brutal chocolate pillage? A country brought to ruin by the lust for cocoa?
