When the world was new and only recently spewed forth, living creatures covered its surface and all was good. But there were no plants. Which was obviously a problem for all the non-carnivores out there.

So the great Bumba’s second son Chonganda summoned up all his powers and managed to produce a single green shoot. It was hard work, this creating business.

Exhausted, he sat beside his father and watched as the magic plant grew buds, flowered, spread its seeds and generated all the plants, grasses, trees and bushes in the world.

Then his brother Chedi Bumba wanted a go...
